Charter a Private Jet to these Winter Resorts

Posted by Eric Wildt on Dec 14, 2012 2:33:00 PM

Charter a private jet to these winter locations.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it’s important to take some time out for yourself to relax. After all, winter only comes once a year. Grab your family, snow gear, and favorite sweaters; charter a private jet from Solairus and make your way to one of America’s best luxury winter haute-spots.

The Whiteface Lodge | Lake Placid, N.Y.

The Whiteface Lodge is a resort that encompasses the Great Camps feel of the Adirondack Mountains. Enjoy the comforts of the authentic Adirondack furnishings and the hand-milled timber accents in the place that Travel + Leisure named the “Northeast’s Best Mountain Resort.” The glow throughout the lodge gives it a German Black Forest feel that makes you feel like you’ve found the perfect union of modern luxury and rustic elegance. When you charter a private jet and stay at the Whiteface Lodge, book the Grand Lodge Presidential Suite, which offers two private bedrooms, a private master suite and splendid views of the Adirondacks from the enclosed balconies. To help you warm up on the most bitter-cold days, partake in the Cigar & Cognac Learn-Tos.  (http://www.thewhitefacelodge.com/)

The Lodge and Spa at Three Forks Ranch | Savery, Wyo.

As a world-class, 15-room resort and spa situated on 200,000 acres of private land, the Lodge and Spa at Three Forks Ranch offers wintertime activities that are tailored to your passions. While Three Forks Ranch has immaculately appointed master suites that feature L’Occitane amenities and Belasari Italian linens, the lodge prides itself on its menu of Exclusive Events that offer adventure without the need to travel far or deal with the annoyances of tourist hotspots. During the winter, enjoy skiing (downhill and cross-country), snowboarding, sledding, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, ice fishing  and snowmobiling. The Personal Guide that the lodge provides its guests helps ensure that every moment of your stay is nothing less than exquisite. (http://www.threeforksranch.com/)

Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley | Park City, Utah

As a AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star accommodation, the Stein Eriksen Lodge is one of the premier resorts in the U.S. to charter a private jet to. Enjoy world-class skiing during the winter, as well as horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowshoeing, snow tubing and snowmobiling as the Rocky Mountains serve as a majestic backdrop. After a day of play, relax at the five-star, 23,000-square- foot luxury spa where you’re treated to personalized treatments, including full salon services. Then head over to the Glitretind, the Forbes Four Star on-site restaurant, for an unforgettable meal and house-made chocolates. When you stay at the Stein Eriksen Lodge, book one of the Grand Suites in the Mountain Lodge. Each suite has its own distinct style, a full-sized European kitchen, stone fireplace, private deck and up to 3,000 square feet of space.  (http://www.steinlodge.com/)

The Lodge and Spa at Cordillera | Edwards, Colo.

Voted as one of the top U.S. ski resorts by Condé Nast Traveler, the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera eloquently blends Northwest-style architecture with Southwestern décor for a modern cowboy feel. During the winter, enjoy your favorite snow sports, as well as ice skating, dog sledding, snow-bike riding and hot-air ballooning. Guests also receive access to the Vail Club and the resort’s private mountain clubs. If the thought of staying in a suite bores you, book one of the resorts luxury rental houses instead. Each rental comes with the amenities that you’d expect from a world-class lodge, but offers the privacy of home. (http://www.cordilleralodge.com/)

Take a Private Charter Jet to The Best Desserts of the World

Everyone raves about wine and the main course, but behind every great meal is a scrumptious dessert. The next time you have a few days to spare, plan a scavenger hunt around the globe when you take a business jet charter to sample the tastiest morsels of decadence in the world.

Golden Opulence Sundae

Created by the New York City eatery Serendipity 3, the Golden Opulence Sundae is famous for its $1,000 price tag. Created to commemorate the restaurant’s golden anniversary in 2005, this dessert is in high demand by the elite around the world, including the crown prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum who recently enjoyed the dessert. The sundae includes five scoops of Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream that’s infused with Madagascar vanilla beans in a $300 Baccarat crystal goblet, which you receive in a velvet-lined box at the end of your meal. Accompanying the ice cream are chunks of chocolate made from Venezuela’s rare Chuao cacao. Drizzled over the ice cream is Amadei Porcelana chocolate that’s then covered with 23-carat edible gold leaf. Adorning the sundae are chocolate truffles, marzipan cherries, gold-covered almonds and candied fruit. In lieu of whipped cream, Serendipity 3 tops off the dessert with a gilded sugar flower that has a dollop of Grande Passion caviar on top. If you wish to partake in this frozen wonder, you’ll need to make a reservation at least 48 hours in advance.

Sultan’s Golden Cake

When you find yourself at the Çırağan Palace (Sarayı) Kempinski Hotel in Instanbul with a sweet tooth, stop into the Tuğra Restaurant & Lounge for a slice of the Sultan’s Golden Cake. There’s no better way to sink your teeth into a brick of gold. As one of the most luscious fruit cakes in the world, the Golden Cake is made of pears, figs, apricots and quince that were soaked in Jamaican Rum for two years. The cake is also infused with rare French Polynesian vanilla and topped with smooth caramel and black truffles. Serving as majestic icing is 24-carat gold leaf. The cake takes up to 72 hours to make and is served in a golden-sealed cake box made of sterling silver. It’s good to live like the royalty of the Ottoman Empire.

Macaroons Haute Couture

When you’ve landed your private charter jet in Paris, you can’t have just any macaroons. You must sample the Haute Couture Macaroons created by pastry chef Pierre Hermé. The airy bites of bliss are made from fine and rare ingredients like fleur de sel, peanut butter, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, lemon cream, Gran Format Infinment caramel, Ceylon cinnamon, Morello cherries, pistachio, cacao from Madagascar,  espelette pepper, green tea,  chanterelle mushroom, aniseed, basil, saffron, caramelized fennel, carrot, passion fruit, Infiniment Chocolat Porcelana and more. With the right combination of ingredients, you can create a custom macaroon that costs over $7,000. If this is the price to pay for heaven, so be it.

The Fortress Stilt Fisherman Indulgence

As you make your way around the world, plan a stop in Galle, Sri Lanka and find your way to The Fortress Resort & Spa. The Stilt Fisherman Indulgence offered by the resort commemorates the time-honored local tradition of stilt fishing by portraying a stilt fisherman carved out of chocolate. The layered dessert is an Italian cassata served with Irish cream, gold leaf and a mango and pomegranate compote. Balancing perfectly on the chocolate stilt is a piece of 80-carat aquamarine cut into the shape of a boat that you get to keep. If you order this Indulgence, be prepared to spend over $14,000.

Considering your traveling adventures across the country or the world in your private aircraft, what was your favorite extravagant treat?
